Valdosta State University (VSU) has formed a partnership with Hwashin Georgia to foster entrepreneurship and support small business growth by assisting students in transforming their innovative concepts into viable enterprises.
As part of this collaboration, Hwashin Georgia has made a generous contribution of $10,000 to bolster the annual Business Plan
Competition organized by VSU’s J. Donald Lee Center for
Entrepreneurship. This competition is accessible to all VSU students, regardless of their academic focus or prior business experience.
The multi-week event is designed to enhance participants’
understanding of successful business planning. Students receive expert feedback from industry professionals and have the opportunity to compete for seed money to help bring their ideas to fruition.
Dr. Byeonghwa Park, assistant professor of management at VSU’s Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration and director of the J. Donald Lee Center for Entrepreneurship, emphasized the competition’s value. He stated that it provides students with practical experience, sharpens their entrepreneurial skills, and offers a chance to secure financial backing for their ventures. Additionally, it facilitates student engagement with industry leaders and potential future employers like Hwashin.
The J. Donald Lee Center for Entrepreneurship will commence accepting applications for this year’s Business Plan Competition in November. Students will have nearly three months to register and submit their initial business ideas. The competition culminates in April with finalists presenting their comprehensive business plans to a panel of judges.
