The newest entertainment venue on the Las Vegas Strip, Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater, continues to expand its roster of performers, with British new wave band Tears for Fears extending their engagement into a full residency for 2025.
The band, known for their 1980s hit “Shout,” initially performed three shows at the venue from October 30 to November 2, 2024. Following the success of these sold-out performances, Tears for Fears and
Fontainebleau have agreed to add four additional dates in early 2025, transforming the limited engagement into a seven-show “Songs For A Nervous Planet” residency. The new shows are scheduled for January 31, February 1, 5, and 7, 2025.
The BleauLive Theater, which opened its doors with Post Malone performing on December 30-31, 2023, has primarily featured short engagements throughout its first year of operation. This differs from most Las Vegas Strip venues, which typically host longer residencies ranging from six shows to multi-year engagements.
During its inaugural year, the venue hosted various notable acts for brief appearances, including Third Eye Blind for one show in June, Hootie and the Blowfish for two shows in August, and Smashing Pumpkins for a single performance on September 27. Upcoming performances include Jennifer Hudson for two shows in December 2024 and Heart for two rescheduled shows in early 2025.
The venue recently secured its first significant residency with country music star Keith Urban, who is set to perform five nights between October 4-12 and an additional five shows from February 14-22, 2025. Adding to its growing lineup, hip-hop artist Pitbull returns to the Las Vegas Strip for his first residency since before the COVID-19 pandemic. His “Vegas After Dark The Residency” includes eight shows, beginning November 8-9, 2024, and continuing with performances on January 24-25, March 7-8, and March 14-15, 2025.
Pitbull’s return to the Strip marks his first residency since his “Time of Our Lives” engagement at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, which ran from September 2015 through May 2019.
For the upcoming Tears for Fears shows, various presale options are available through Artist, Platinum, Citi Cardmember, Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and Fontainebleau channels until November 7 at 10 p.m. Pacific time. General public ticket sales begin November 8 at 10 a.m. Pacific time.
The extended residency will feature the band performing their classic 1980s hits alongside material from their latest album, “Songs For A Nervous Planet.” This announcement comes as other established acts continue to secure residencies on the Strip, including Scorpions, who will celebrate their 60th anniversary with shows at Caesars
Entertainment’s PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in early 2025, and Mötley Crüe, who return to MGM Resorts International’s Dolby Live at Park MGM for their first residency in 12 years.
The expansion of Tears for Fears’ engagement represents a shift in Fontainebleau’s entertainment strategy, as the venue begins to balance short-term performances with longer-term residencies, establishing itself as a major player in Las Vegas’s competitive entertainment landscape.
