Las Vegas Strip Revives Revenue with Star-Studded Musical Residencies in 2025

After several months of declining gaming revenues, Las Vegas Strip venues are betting on a star-studded lineup of musical residencies to boost business in 2025. The entertainment push comes as Strip casinos have reported four consecutive months of decreased gambling revenue through October 2024, according to Nevada Gaming Control Board data.

Major casino operators including Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, and Wynn Resorts have scheduled an impressive array of performers for the first half of 2025. Country music star Blake Shelton will kick off the year with his debut residency at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum from February 5-15.

German rock band Scorpions will celebrate their 60th anniversary with five shows at Planet Hollywood’s PH Live in February and March. Bryan Adams brings his “Roll With The Punches 2025” residency to the Encore Theater at Wynn for six dates in March.

Metal legends Motley Crue are set for an 11-show run at MGM’s Dolby Live at Park MGM spanning March and April, followed by Sammy Hagar’s nine-show residency at the same venue in April and May. The Venetian Theatre will host “Weird Al” Yankovic for six performances in June.

Additional residency announcements include classical crossover star Josh Groban at the Colosseum in May, rock icon Joan Jett with the Blackhearts at Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues in June, and pop group New Kids On The Block at Dolby Live with shows scheduled through February 2026.

Following a successful sold-out October 2024 run, Grammy winner Lenny Kravitz has extended his Blue Electric Light Las Vegas residency at Dolby Live. The “Are You Gonna Go My Way” hitmaker will return for five shows in August 2025, performing tracks from his twelfth studio album released in May 2024. The extension comes as Kravitz prepares for a 17-date European tour running from February to April 2025.

Ticket sales for Kravitz’s residency will roll out in phases, beginning with Citi Cardmember and Official Platinum presales on January 8. Artist presales follow on January 9, while Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and SiriusXM presales start January 10. General public tickets become available January 11, with all presales and general sales beginning at 10 AM Pacific time through Ticketmaster.com.

The robust entertainment calendar represents a strategic move by Strip properties to counter recent revenue challenges. Kravitz, whose previous eleven albums have achieved combined sales exceeding 40 million copies, exemplifies the caliber of talent being enlisted to draw visitors back to Las Vegas venues.

This concentration of high-profile residencies demonstrates the Strip’s continued evolution as a premier live entertainment
destination, even as traditional gaming revenues face headwinds. The diverse lineup spans multiple genres and generations, from country and classical to hard rock and pop, suggesting a calculated effort to appeal to varied audience demographics.

These extended engagements, a format pioneered and perfected in Las Vegas, allow artists to maintain a consistent presence while giving fans multiple opportunities to attend performances. The model has proven particularly successful in recent years, with many performers extending their initial runs due to strong demand, as evidenced by Kravitz’s return following his October sellout.
