Duke Robotics Corp. has appointed Alexandra Papaconstantinou as Managing Director of its Greek subsidiary, marking another milestone in the company’s European expansion strategy. The appointment comes just weeks after the establishment of Duke Robotics Hellas, the company’s first European branch.
Papaconstantinou brings extensive experience in industrial engineering and corporate management to the role, having previously served as Managing Director of an industrial engineering firm from 2004 to 2019. Her background includes facilitating cross-border collaborations between Greek and Israeli companies, making her well-positioned to drive Duke Robotics’ growth initiatives in the region.
The appointment strengthens Duke Robotics’ presence in Greece, where the company sees significant opportunities for its IC Drone technology in utility maintenance applications. Greece has reportedly allocated over $32 billion in European Union funding for energy-related projects and aims to generate 82% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
“Alexandra’s deep understanding of both Greek and international markets makes her an ideal leader to drive our initiatives in Greece,” said Yossef Balucka, CEO of Duke Robotics. “We believe her leadership will be instrumental in growing our operations and forging strategic partnerships.”
The expansion into Greece follows Duke Robotics’ recent commercialization milestone with Israel Electric Corporation (IEC), where its IC Drone technology is now actively deployed for high-voltage insulator maintenance. The company’s Greek subsidiary aims to replicate this success by introducing the technology to utility providers across the region.
“I am eager to foster new collaborations and drive adoption of our IC Drone technology,” said Papaconstantinou. “The company’s cutting-edge robotic solutions have the potential to transform critical industries, and I look forward to contributing to Duke Robotics’ global expansion.”
The company announced its plans to establish European operations in January 2025, signaling its commitment to expanding the reach of its drone-enabled solutions for utility maintenance. With Papaconstantinou’s appointment, Duke Robotics strengthens its position to capitalize on the growing demand for innovative infrastructure maintenance solutions in the European market.
