Disney Cruise Line is expanding its maritime offerings with multiple new vessels and experiences launching in 2025, building upon the recent successful maiden voyage of the Disney Treasure from Port Canaveral, Florida on December 21, 2024.
The cruise line’s ambitious expansion plans include the introduction of two significant additions to its fleet in 2025. The Disney Destiny will commence operations from Fort Lauderdale, Florida in November 2025, featuring a heroes and villains theme throughout its design. Passengers aboard the Destiny will experience a new family dinner show inspired by “The Lion King” and can visit the cruise line’s first-ever “Doctor Strange”-themed lounge, alongside venues celebrating Cruella de Vil and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Following shortly after, the Disney Adventure will inaugurate the company’s presence in the Asian market, departing from Singapore in December 2025. This vessel stands out for its theme park-like qualities, incorporating seven distinct themed areas showcasing Disney, Pixar, and Marvel properties. A highlight of the Disney Adventure will be Marvel Landing, an adventure zone featuring three new attractions, including Ironcycle Test Run – the longest
rollercoaster at sea and Disney Cruise Line’s first such attraction.
The cruise line’s character experiences are also evolving with the times. Starting January 2025, passengers sailing from Australia and New Zealand will be the first to interact with Bluey and Bingo, the popular characters from 2024’s most-watched Disney+ series “Bluey.” These encounters will include meet-and-greets and an interactive game culminating in a dance party featuring Bluey’s signature moves.
Marvel’s Deadpool will make his first appearance with Disney Cruise Line when the Disney Adventure launches from Singapore. The character will join other Marvel heroes and villains in “Avengers Assemble!” – a spectacular show featuring stunts, special effects, and appearances by iconic characters including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, and Black Panther.
The Disney Destiny will make history as the first Disney cruise ship to showcase a Marvel superhero on its stern, featuring an impressive Spider-Man sculpture accompanied by Spider-Bots adorning the ship’s filigree.
These developments are part of Disney Cruise Line’s strategic expansion, with plans to more than double its fleet by 2031, reinforcing its position as a leader in family cruising. The new ships join the recently launched Disney Treasure, which currently offers seven-night Caribbean itineraries and includes experiences themed around “Haunted Mansion,” “Moana,” and “Coco.”
The expansion represents Disney Cruise Line’s commitment to providing innovative entertainment and experiences at sea, combining traditional cruise amenities with Disney’s storytelling expertise and beloved characters. The addition of these new vessels and experiences demonstrates the company’s investment in diverse markets and its dedication to creating unique vacation options for families worldwide.
The strategic placement of these new ships – with the Destiny operating from Florida and the Adventure based in Singapore – indicates Disney Cruise Line’s focus on both strengthening its presence in established markets and expanding into new territories, particularly in Asia. This growth not only provides more options for Disney cruise enthusiasts but also introduces the Disney cruise experience to new audiences across different regions.
